Come learn from the best at The Gartland School of Irish Dance!
Anne Jacocks Gartland, TCRG is certified to teach Irish dancing at all levels by The Commission of Irish Dancing based out of Ireland.
Anne began dancing at the age of 4 with The Gray School of Irish Dance. She went on to win the New England Championship multiple times, place in the Top Ten at the North American National Championships, and compete at the World Championships in Ireland.
Anne received her certification at the age of 21 and taught for The Gray School for many years. While sharing her love of dance with children and adults of all levels, she helped produce Regional, National, and World Champions. Her love of Irish Dancing led to her return to dance and the founding of The Gartland School of Irish Dance in 2019.
Anne lives in Danbury with her husband, Keith, and her dancing daughter, Julia.

What They’re Saying
I am so happy you are doing this Anne! All 4 of my girls danced with you at some point. You were always an amazing teacher and gave wonderful support and love to my girls. I wish I was still up north so I could send my grandkids to your new school!
When I started dancing at age 14 there was a lot to take in at once. The culture, history, and traditions within the Irish dancing community is deep and rich and there was no one more welcoming than Miss Anne. Her patience combined with her persistence to bring out the best in her students is a recipe for success that can’t be beat.
Congratulations on the new dance school! You were such an amazing teacher for my 8 years dancing. You taught us dance steps (and I can still do the Blackbird Set in my sleep...), but more than that you taught us dedication, teamwork, and how to have fun through it all. Your students don't know yet how lucky they are to have you!
Miss Anne was always there pushing me along in my dance career. Were it not for her, I never would have started competing and made my way to be an open level dancer. I credit miss Anne for my success!
I started Irish dancing at 5 years old, and Miss Anne was one of the smiling faces that greeted me. 23 years later and we are still in touch with one another. Miss Anne is passionate, personable, and positive. She makes dance fun and engaging, and I always looked forward to attending class! I am still a ceili dancer because of the love of dance that she instilled in me!
I probably wouldn't have been a dancer for 9 years without Miss Anne. She taught me that the discipline and hard work of Irish Dance can only lead to success when you remember to have a few laughs as well. From my earliest beginner classes to solo and team championships, her instruction and advice were incredibly valuable. Althought it has been years since I've taken dance classes, I remain grateful for Miss Anne's guidance. She is absolutely one of the best.
There were many times at dance where I felt "less than" maybe because I wasn't good enough as other people or because I didn't have as many placements as others but while other teachers might have made that feeling more evident, you always believed in me and gave me individualized attention no matter what!
You were one of the few people in my life who was always in my corner. You always believed in me and you built me up to a point that I could believe in my self both in the dancing world and the real world. I wouldn’t be the person and the leader I am today without you in my life. So thank you and I’m so excited you get to play a role in so many other kid’s lives.
